CityMax.com Celebrates 'End of Recession' with Street Hockey

Easy Website Builder Company Bucks Trends and Increases Staff by 46% in Four Months

September 17, 2009

VANCOUVER, BC – CityMax.com, the easy website builder, today celebrated the "the end of the recession" with a lunchtime street hockey game for staff and local businesses outside its office, across from downtown Vancouver's famous Gassy Jack statue. The tech company has grown from 24 to 35 employees since May, an increase of 46%.

"Street hockey is a fun way to keep us relaxed and healthy – it was actually our team's suggestion," said Dean Gagnon, CityMax.com Chief Evangelist and President . "It's also a great opportunity to celebrate our success as the economic climate turns around, and connect with other small businesses."

Over 572,000 websites have been created with CityMax.com technology since the company's inception in 1999. The company's customer base is mainly comprised of small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to generate a second income. Thirty-three percent of CityMax.com users are over the age of 50.

"As job security shrinks, more traditionally employed people are looking to go into business for themselves and create supplementary income," said Gagnon. "We've grown by empowering entrepreneurs, young and old, to chase their dreams and make money online."

Jill Klancic, a CityMax.com customer and owner of a small business selling pet products, commented in a recent business survey that she was very confident her business would survive the recession. "To cut costs, businesses need to grow online," Klancic observed. "Real entrepreneurs who find ways to be creative will succeed through these times."
