When I first contemplated setting up a website to expand my business, I knew absolutely nothing about how to do it. I accidentally came across CityMax.com while visiting a website that sold similar items to mine and advertised the CityMax logo. Otherwise, it wouldn't have occurred to me that building a website was something that I could tackle myself. Step by step, I began building my website using CityMax's on-line instructions. I picked a great template, learned how to upload photos, insert text, make multiple Web pages, get my own domain name, build my on-line catalog, set up my business e-mail accounts, set up my shopping cart, Paypal, and shipping method, and to submit my URL to a search engine maximizer.
All along the way, I was constantly writing to customer support seeking help on things I couldn't figure out and, always within a short time, they wrote back! Multiple times, if necessary. Along the way, CityMax even offered to build me a customized header for my website free of charge as a special promotion. That added a level of customization and technical skill that I could not have done myself at that time. Still a work in progress as I learned more, I was so proud of my overall accomplishment! Perseverance and determination combined with access to all the instructions available through CityMax finally resulted in a stylish, colorful website perfectly suited to the retail items I sell. And, the website is effectively listed on all the most commonly used search engines!
I went from being completely ignorant to having my own website that I can truly say, when people ask, that I did it myself! And the piece de resistance was when I received the first e-mail from Paypal that I had received an order and had money waiting for me in my Paypal account!
The rest is history. I've now gotten orders from all over the US including Alaska and Hawaii. Everyone tells me what a great website I have and there are still features that CityMax suggests using that I haven't even gotten to yet! I'll be making continuous improvements over time.
